This 40-year-old condominium staircase was ready for a complete update. We opened up the stairwell to give it a cleaner, more current look. The stairs and landings were rebuilt with stained hardwood treads that tie in with the existing flooring, while the risers, skirt boards, posts, and trim were finished in white for a sharp contrast.

New square posts and straightforward painted handrails replaced the original decorative railing. Horizontal stainless-steel cable was then installed throughout the stair runs and landing areas, helping the space feel more open and allowing natural light to move through the stairwell. The finished staircase keeps the original layout of the condominium but gives the entire area a brighter, more updated appearance.
